The LSU women's basketball team is back on campus with the start of the academic year and is participating in preseason conditioning sessions. Among the Tigers' new additions is MiLaysia Fulwiley, the former South Carolina guard who averaged 11.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2 assists per game for the coach Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks last season.

On Monday, Sports Illustrated published a new edition of " Around the W" with Fulwiley as the special guest. Host Maria Clifton asked Fulwiley why she picked SEC rival LSU to join this season.

"South Carolina's a great program, but I'm from there," Fulwiley said. "I've been there my whole life. [The] school is like 15 minutes away from my house, 12, so I kind of felt like I just needed a new environment. A new, fresh start.
