In her latest cover story with Billboard , Cardi B revealed she had been approached to headline the Super Bowl halftime show in the past, but turned it down.

While speaking with the publication ahead of her sophomore album Am I The Drama? , Cardi said, “I got asked to do the Super Bowl and I denied it. I feel like soon, if I get to do it, I’m going to have more hits. I’m going to be more experienced, and I’m going to eat that up.”

This isn’t Cardi’s first brush with the NFL’s biggest stage. Back in 2019, she revealed she had turned down an offer to perform at Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta, a move made in solidarity with former quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
