MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - The Meridian Township Police Department has identified a suspect in a 1994 home invasion and sexual assault that occurred in the township.

The suspect, Sean Patrick McNulty, has also been linked to a series of crimes across the country, from California to Ohio, between 1980 and 1997.

The original incident in Meridian Township took place in 1994. Despite a thorough investigation at the time, no suspect was identified.

In 2005, DNA evidence from the Meridian case was matched to cases in Birmingham, Michigan, and Columbus, Ohio, prompting a joint investigation among the three jurisdictions.

Further forensic analysis in 2024 connected the same suspect to unsolved cases from the 1980s in Ventura, California.
