SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – After a caller rang up the Spokane Valley Fire Department to ask for help at a local care facility, firefighters were stopped and asked to help remove a ring that had been stuck on a woman’s finger for three years.

The finger was now painfully swollen and she could not get the ring off.

Firefighters first tried to use a ring-cutter, but “that didn't even scratch it,” said the department.

Instead, firefighters carefully used a Dremel to remove the ring.

“ Ring off. Pain gone,” wrote the fire department.
