PEND OREILLE COUNTY, Wash. – The Tacoma Creek Fire, burning 15 miles northwest of Cusick, has grown to between 1,200 and 1,500 acres, according to the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office (POCSO).

The fire has led to several road closures, including Blacktail Mountain Road at the Little Pend Oreille River crossing and Olsen Creek Road in Stevens County. Additional closures include Ruby Creek Road at Tacoma Divide Road, Cusick Creek Road at sections 11 and 14 of the U.S. Forest Service Boundary, and Tacoma Creek Road at Calicoma Road.

Officials have urged the public to avoid these areas and be cautious of emergency personnel.
