Gov. Healey today announced that the state will require insurers to cover the costs of Covid-19 and other vaccines recommended by the state Department of Public Health now that what's left of the CDC is rolling back vaccine guidelines.
At a press conference, Healey and state Public Health Commissioner Robbie Goldstein said CVS and Walgreens will open their Covid-19 vaccination portals for Massachusetts residents starting tomorrow.
In addition to private insurers, MassHealth and GIC, which insures state employees, will also cover the costs of vaccinations.
Healey added that Massachusetts is joining with other Northeastern states - except for the Live Free and Die state - on a new public-health consortium that will deal with not just vaccines but with other public-health initiatives, such
