Energy experts are now sharing their advice on the best time to put the heating on, as well as recommending practical ways to keep homes warm without causing energy bills to soar.

“While there is no exact date to switch your heating on, once outdoor temperatures drop below around 15°C most people will start to feel the chill,” say energy experts at Grant Store.

“For many households this tends to be in October or November, but it really depends on personal preference and how well insulated your home is.”
