BOISE, Idaho — Caldwell educator Dr. Melyssa Ferro has been honored as Idaho's recipient of the the 2026 Travelers Awards for Teaching Excellence by the NEA Foundation.

The Idaho Education Association said 48 educators throughout the U.S. were nominated for the national award for their “excellence in the classroom, leadership in the teaching profession, community engagement and commitment to expanding opportunities for all through public education.”

This is Ferro's second time winning the award. She also won in 2018.
