BOISE, Idaho — Lightning strikes ignited at least four fires near Lake Cascade late Tuesday night, prompting a response from federal and local agencies.

The Valley County Sheriff's Office said the fires were reported at 10:13 p.m., with three active fires burning on West Mountain, and a fourth fire burning near Eagle's Nest.

"[W]e have no information that any homes are in danger at this time," the sheriff's office wrote in a news release.

The sheriff's office contacted Valley County's emergency manager, who confirmed that the Payette National Forest Service and Southern Idaho Timber Association are working to fight the fires.

This is a developing story. KTVB will provide more information as it becomes available. Check back for updates.
