FAIRFIELD, Iowa (KCRG) - Two women from Fairfield are each facing of host of charges after police found dozens of cats and dogs being kept in unsafe conditions.
44-year-old Ellen Telleen and 26-year-old Krysta Telleen are each charged with 48 counts of Animal Neglect.
Fairfield Police say on August 27, it received information about possible animal neglect in the 100-block of Cardinal Drive. Police say the report indicated that a large number of animals were being kept in poor and potentially dangerous conditions.
Police say based on information they collected, investigators were able to establish probable cause for a search warrant.
On September 2, Fairfield police executed that search warrant with help from the Animal Rescue League of Iowa and the Fairfield Veterinary Clinic.
