QUINCY (WGEM) - A Quincy man was sentenced on Wednesday after discharging a firearm at a Quincy University party in October.

Darren D. Caillier, 29, was sentenced to seven years for reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of weapons and attempted aggravated discharge of a firearm. He will be held in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The sentences will be served concurrently in the Illinois Department of Corrections, at a rate of 50% truth in sentencing.

According to Adams County State’s Attorney Todd Eyler, on July 9, Caillier pled guilty and took a plea negotiation.

On Oct. 4, 2024, QPD responded to a shots-fired call at 530 North 18th Street, which is within 1,00 feet of Quincy University.
