FRONT ROYAL — Fellow board members reacted Thursday to the resignation of Fork District Supervisor Vicky L. Cook from the Warren County Board of Supervisors as they became familiar with the process to appoint an interim representative.
“She has been a very, very good board member and Vicky has been very thorough in her research,” said Chairman Jerome “Jay” Butler. “She's been a real joy to work with. I hate to see her go.”
Butler said Cook’s announcement came as a surprise, “out of the clear blue.”
“She never gave me any indication or anything and I tried to talk her out of it, but she said ‘nope, I’ve made up my mind’,” he said by phone Thursday.
