Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping were caught on a hot mic this week discussing scientific approaches to dramatically extending human life, renewing the age-old debate about the potential for people to live to 150.

“Human organs can be continuously transplanted. The longer you live, the younger you become, and [you can] even achieve immortality,” Putin’s interpreter could be heard saying in Chinese.

Xi, who was off camera at the Beijing event, can be heard responding in Chinese: “Some predict that in this century humans may live to 150 years old.” 6
