MARTINSBURG — The Berkeley County Commission heard a formal endorsement on Thursday for a grant that could help expand services at the Recovery Village, a Martinsburg campus providing housing and support for people in early recovery from drug addiction.

Opened earlier this year, the 72-acre Recovery Village has already served 48 individuals, all West Virginia residents, in certified recovery housing. Commissioners said the facility has quickly become a stabilizing force in the community by offering residents not only shelter but also accountability and structure.
