FAYETTEVILLE -- Even before Thursday's ceremonial ribbon-cutting for the new ALS Clinic at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Northwest Hospital, officials and representatives of the ALS Association were talking about growing into a multi-state regional care center.
"We are going to attract patients from Northwest Arkansas, Missouri, Tulsa and even Kansas," Cal Brooks, regional vice president of the ALS Association, said during the event. "Northwest Arkansas has had a growing number of ALS patients for years. With the gift of this Hoffman Clinic Development Award grant, patients and families from Northwest Arkansas don't have to travel for world-class treatment."
