HOUSTON (KIAH) — Around 40 homes will return to the owners after Harris County received a final default judgment against a couple accused of forging legal documents to seize homes.
Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee said at a press conference that the ruling from a judge to return 40 homes to their original owners in a case of real estate forgery.
“These scams didn't just take people's property, they shattered trust,” Menefee said. “They disrupted families. And frankly, they stole dreams. And no person in Harris County should have to deal with a scam or with this type of fraud that impacts their ability to get access to generational wealth.”
