BELTON, Texas — Three months after 16-year-old Kamiyah Wright died at Belton Lake , her family is still fighting for answers they say military investigators have failed to provide.

Wright died on June 22 in what should have been a milestone day – her first day at her first job, followed by her first time driving alone to meet friends at the lake near Fort Hood.

But what her family describes as a day of independence and growth ended in tragedy when Wright allegedly drowned at Belton Lake, which falls under military jurisdiction.

Her family says military investigators ruled Wright's death an accidental drowning, but her family believes that explanation is impossible.

"She did not like water. She did not like to be in swimming pools, lakes, anything to do with water, not even a bathtub
