AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Amarillo Area CASA advocates for children across the Panhandle who are dealing with abuse or neglect through the efforts of trusted volunteers.

CASA believes every child who has been abused or neglected deserves to have an advocate speaking up for them.

“You advocate for these children, you show up for them, you build relationships when them, and you have to be the one to speak up when you notice that something is not connected,” said Ana Castanon, volunteer with Amarillo Area CASA.

Whether it be in court, at school, in their homes, or within the community, volunteers work to serve the best interests of the child.

The trained volunteers say building trust, showing up, and having a genuine interest in helping these children are crucial when volunteering.
