RIVERTON, Neb. (KSNB) - The village of Riverton has been without water since Monday after their only water well collapsed, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
The village, along with Franklin County Emergency Management and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, began efforts to provide water and food for the community until water service could be reestablished to the community.
Emergency Management contacted the Franklin County Board Chairman, and at that time a disaster declaration was issued.
Bottled water has been provided to the residents, and options are currently being explored to replace the water well for the community. Meals are being provided for the community by Hot Meals USA.
Further information will be released as it becomes available.
