MICHIGAN CITY — The man shot Wednesday morning died Thursday afternoon from his injuries, the Michigan City Police Department said in an update.
The man, identified by police as Jacob Addison, 25, of Michigan City, died at 2:36 p.m., officials said. A homicide investigation is still underway, and police now say the shooting was "not a random act of violence and therefore was an isolated incident with no additional danger to the community."
Police did not publicly elaborate on what details led them to conclude the shooting was not random.
