LEWISBURG, WV (WVNS) - The intersection of Court and Foster Streets in Lewisburg has now reopened after a sinkhole emerged, which forced a road closure.

In the process of repairing this sinkhole, workers fixed both the water line and the local PSD’s sewer line.

Misty Hill is the city manager for the city of Lewisburg. She explained that the sinkhole was filled, and gravel was put down on top for the time being, as they are going to give the ground time to settle. The City is going to hold off on paving the road until after it settles.

“I would just encourage everyone to take it easy. Go through slowly at the intersection with the gravel. [We] just do not want you sliding or spilling and spinning around so that other than that, we are excited to be back open,” said Hill.
