HELENA — Luke Nelson assumed his tournament victory had slipped away.

The Kalispell Glacier senior’s bogey on 18 left the door propped wide open for junior Wolfpack teammate Torren Murray to complete his come-from-behind victory on a windy Day 2 at the 2025 Helena Invite hosted by Bill Roberts Golf Course.

“I skied one into the hazard and I hit a really good 3-wood up near the green,” Nelson said. “Didn’t get up and down. Thought I lost the tournament, really.

“Teammate snap hooked it [out-of-bounds]. Kind of a pillow fight in the end. Worked out in my favor this time.”

Nelson was chatting with Jim Ness, Glacier’s head coach, when Murray rolled toward the green, informing his buddies of misfortune suffered between the tee box and clubhouse. The result was a tournament-losing double bog
