One person was killed and three others, including a child, were injured in a head-on crash in Silverado Thursday.

The crash happened about 1:15 p.m. on Santiago Canyon Road at Silverado Canyon Road, according to California Highway Patrol officer Fernando Perez.

The driver of a southbound car veered into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons, slamming into another car, Perez said. A third northbound car was also involved in the crash, he added.

Two adults and a child were rushed to a local hospital, Perez said. A driver of one of the northbound cars was pronounced dead at the scene, Perez said.
