SCRANTON, Pa. — After seven months of uncertainty over who would fill the seat of Democrat Matt McGloin as a Lackawanna County Commissioner, a panel of county judges picked Brenda Sacco. She's the county's former Economic Development director.

Chris Patrick, the Lackawanna County Democratic Committee Chairman, in part, after speaking to Court Administrator Frank Castellano.

"I want to thank the judges of the Court of Common Pleas, they appointed an excellent public servant in Commissioner Brenda Sacco. She is a workhorse on behalf of the people, she's warm, humble, and extremely talented,” said Chris Patrick, the Lackawanna County Democratic Committee Chairman, after speaking to Court Administrator Frank Castellano.

Minority commissioner Chris Chermak had a similar sentiment.
