The 2024 Detroit Lions ' defense was robbed of the chance to be elite for the full season due to significant attrition to the team's starters and depth players.

What began as a memorable season for the unit quickly became something very forgettable, as continuous waves of injuries during the second half of the season ultimately did the Lions in during a 45-31 divisional round loss to the Washington Commanders.
