BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - Bossier City partnered with Xfinity for a special back-to-school celebration.

Xfinity is sponsoring the Soar to Success essay contest in partnership with Bossier City Parks and Recreation and Bossier Parish Schools.

Forty high school students in Bossier Parish participated in the essay contest, writing pieces on how to “soar to success.”

The winners of the essay content were recognized at an awards ceremony Thursday, Sept. 4 at the Shady Grove Community Center.

Mayor Tommy Chandler says he appreciates this partnership with Xfinity and “their commitment to make a positive difference in our community.”

Xfinity leaders say they believe community engagement like this is important because “the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.”
