GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The 176th Annual Franklin County Fair began Thursday in Greenfield, drawing thousands of visitors for its opening night.

The fair offers a variety of attractions, including fried food, animals, rock and roll racing, and a new construction play site for children.

"My wife's an alumni of Greenfield Community College and my son, who's a junior in high school, is currently part of dual enrollment, so they're marching in the parade and we're here to support," said Thomas Kielbania Jr. of Chicopee.

The fair features a parade on Main Street, which includes local law enforcement and other organizations.

Several shows are scheduled to take place during the fair, including a demolition derby.
