ESCANABA — Escanaba Area High School underwent a lock down for nearly two hours Thursday. According to reporting by the Escanaba Daily Press, at around 11 a.m. Thursday, Escanaba City Police responded to a tip regarding a person with a gun potentially intending to do harm at the high school.
The Daily Press reported that the school was locked down while law enforcement officers patrolled and kept on the lookout for any suspicious persons in the area. Classes were permitted to resume at approximately 12:40 p.m. c
However, even though classes resumed, the outside doors to remained locked. Parents were allowed to enter the building to pick up their children with an escort.
As of press time (3:15) p.m. no shooting had occurred.
