MARKLE, Ind. (WPTA) - An infant is dead after being bitten by a dog, according to the Markle Police Department.
Officers were called to a home in Markle Thursday night after a dog that lived in the home bit the infant, police say.
Medics took the infant to Lutheran Hospital for treatment, but they died from their injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the Markle Police Department, Huntington County Sheriff’s Office, and the Huntington County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner will identify the infant and rule on their cause and manner of death at a later time.
