Most parents make an extra effort to be at their children’s kindergarten plays, however, by the time the students reach high school, very few parents attend the parent-teacher conference nights. Boston Latin Academy starts in grade 7 so I have taught many grades throughout my career. Without exception parents with students in grade 7 attend parent-teacher meetings in such numbers that I often run out of time and space. Whereas in grades 10, 11 and 12, very often I am sitting in my room all alone.
