A wedding venue in Melbourne’s north-west has been destroyed by arsonists who used a stolen SUV to ram through the building before setting it ablaze.

Victoria Police say the attackers drove the stolen vehicle through the front of the Keilor Park Ultima Function Centre before torching both the car and the building.

The brazen attack comes as the venue was scheduled to host a Lebanese concert tonight that has connections to Melbourne’s ongoing tobacco turf war.

The firebombing represents the latest escalation in violence plaguing Melbourne’s tobacco industry, with businesses and venues increasingly becoming targets.
