BURLINGTON, Iowa (KWQC) - A man is facing 56 counts of child pornography charges after Burlington police arrested him on Thursday.
Burlington police officers got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in July, according to a media release.
Investigators then identified 43-year-old Carl Shirts II, of Burlington, as a suspect.
Thursday morning, Shirts was arrested and charged with:
56 counts of felony child pornography - purchase/possession of a depiction of a minor in sex acts, first offense
Invasion of privacy, an aggravated misdemeanor
Shirts is being held on bond in the Des Moines County Jail.
