PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Get ready everyone, because today is the first day of PVDFest.

The two-day bash is back at Kennedy Plaza for its second year.

The fest has live music, food and art.

Thursday, Mayor Smiley gave a preview of what’s new this year, including artists competing in a live challenge, creating art on the spot.

PVDFest kicks off at 4:45 p.m.

If the weather poses a challenge, Sunday is scheduled as the rain date.

The festival takes place in the heart of the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority’s bus plaza.

As such, RIPTA has announced a series of service changes.

Starting today, all bus stops in Kennedy Plaza will be relocated to Dyer Street between Dorrance and Ship Streets to accommodate the festival.

Washington Street will be fully closed to bus traffic as well.
