WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - It’s the first day of the Kansas State Fair, and it will be chilly and wet at the fairgrounds.
Preparations have been ongoing at the fairgrounds for more than a week, and today the gates will open for the fair. That means you’ll be able to view exhibits from 4-H’ers, shop at vendors and enjoy the rides.
Organizers expect 350,000 people to come to the fair between now and next Sunday when it wraps up. Shows in the grandstand begin Friday when Sam Barber takes the state. On Saturday, comedian Jeff Dunham performs.
