Half-pound of meth seized during I

RAVENNA, Ohio - A traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Portage County resulted in the seizure of nearly a half-pound of methamphetamine and the arrest of a Detroit man.

Portage County Sheriff's Deputies, and with the Portage Aggressive Crime Enforcement (P.A.C.E.) Unit stopped a 2016 Chrysler 200 on the interstate for minor traffic violations. The driver was identified as Jaylen Davis, 26, of Detroit, Michigan.

During the stop, authorities say a K-9 alerted them to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle uncovered a vacuum-sealed package containing about 223 grams of methamphetamine.

"Every time we take drugs like this off the highway, we prevent them from reaching our neighborhoods and harming our families," said Sheriff Bruce D. Zuchowski, who commended the P.A.C.E. Unit for t
