FROM October 24, Southwest Airlines passengers can access the internet while in the sky — without paying a penny .
It’s the latest in a string of customer-friendly upgrades from the Dallas-based budget airline - with no catches.
Anyone signed up to the airline’s Rapid Rewards scheme will be able to log on for free.
The loyalty club doesn’t cost anything to join, so even casual travellers can take advantage.
The new perk comes thanks to a tie-up with phone giant T-Mobile, with the free connection available from take-off to touchdown across Southwest’s 800-plus aircraft.
Mike Katz, T-Mobile’s president of marketing, said the aim was to make flying less of a digital dead zone.
