A new Sukhoi Superjet 100, a Russian civil aircraft, made its first flight on Friday using parts made in Russia, according to footage released by the Rostec state corporation.

The producer replaced a French engine with a Russian analogue and said it substituted "dozens" of other "foreign systems and aggregates."

The fuselage has been also modified.

The plane spent approximately an hour in the sky near Russia's far eastern city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur where it is produced.

The Russian aviation industry has been impacted since Western sanctions banned the export of aircraft parts and other aviation services to Russia following the start of its offensive in Ukraine.

Previously the Russian aviation industry relied heavily on imports of parts and technology from Western companies.
