TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The first day of the Citizens Academy started this week; a program designed to give community members a first-hand look and experience of the various operations at the Twin Falls Police Department.

“It’s 7 weeks, one night a week, and each night highlights a different part of our department,” said Lieutenant Steven Gassert.

“So, one night may be with our detective’s division, the next night with our SWAT team and bomb squad. They spend some time with our crime scene investigators, our patrol officers, our K-9’s,” said Gassert.

Dallan Turner is a Class of 2024 academy graduate. He’s returning this year as a volunteer for the program.
