KALISPELL - The man accused of driving drunk and crashing into a vehicle near Bigfork, killing one person and leaving another critically injured in a coma , changed his plea on Thursday.

Dal Segall changed his not guilty plea to guilty on one count of felony Vehicular Homicide While Under the Influence and three felony counts of Negligent Vehicular Assault.

Segall’s attorney and the State of Montana reached a binding plea agreement recommending 60 years in the Montana State Prison with 20 years suspended.

Authorities say Segall was passing a vehicle in a no-passing zone on Montana Highway 83 when he collided head-on with another vehicle on December 1, 2024.
