VERNON, Conn. (WTNH) — A Stamford man was arrested Thursday in Vernon after he engaged police in a pursuit on Interstate 84, according to state police.

At around 8:15 p.m., Massachusetts State Police (MSP) informed Connecticut State Police that a black Nissan Frontier pickup truck had engaged troopers in a pursuit on I-84 westbound. The Frontier entered Connecticut, and MSP said that their troopers had disengaged.

CSP began receiving multiple 911 calls about erratic driving of the same vehicle. A trooper spotted the vehicle driving below the posted speed limit while failing to maintain its lane between exits 69 and 68.

When the trooper activated its lights and attempted a traffic stop, the truck began driving at speeds of 90 miles per hour.
