BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Governor Brad Little declared the week of Sept. 7 as Idaho School Zone Safety Week, according to a release by AAA.
Following this declaration, the Idaho Association of School Resource Officers (IDASRO) is working with AAA to keep school zones safe.
“School zones require drivers to slow down and watch for children on their way to and from school, but anytime kids and vehicles share the same space, it can be risky,” says AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde. “As drivers, we take the lead in keeping others safe.”
To reinforce these safety efforts, drivers are reminded to look for signs and flashing lights that signal a school zone and to slow down and look for children near the roads. Make sure to follow the instructions from crossing guards. It is dan
