Western North Carolina is home to countless scenic drives. A recent list from WorldAtlas honored five of them.

Founded in 1994 by cartographer John Moen and his wife, Chris Woolwine-Moen, WorldAtlas publishes educational materials and articles on geography, sociology, demography, environment, economics, politics, and travel.

The Citizen Times has covered multiple mentions of WNC from WorldAtlas, including recent inclusions on lists of " fairytale towns ," breathtaking views and best downtown areas . The newest list from the publication honored 11 different scenic drives within N.C., five of which were located in the western region of the state.
