Michael Absher was arrested in July and faces 11 counts of child sexual abuse.

Members of Hendersonville’s city government expressed regret for having awarded funding to an organization that was later revealed to be unlicensed to work with children , saying they believed at the time that it was licensed.

Hendersonville City Council revoked $3,000 in nonprofit funding allocated for the group Only Hope WNC, which provides services to homeless children and teens and, until recently, ran a residential shelter to house them.
