PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- South Side Mission is celebrating its 100th anniversary in October after a century of serving Peoria.
The celebration will take place on Monday, Oct. 6, at the Peoria Civic Center, said Lexi Lusk, a spokeswoman for the South Side Mission.
She said the milestone evening will feature keynote speaker, James Ford Jr., who is a retired senior pastor of Christ Bible Church of Chicago and nationally recognized Bible teacher.
Guests will also be able to enjoy a musical performance by Pastor Jeremy Williams, the worship director of Bayside Community Church.
Lusk said there will also be a youth choir from South Side Mission and several awards to mission supporters.
“We are so blessed to be such a vibrant ministry in 2025, 100 years after Helen Haien started the mission,"
