BROOK PARK, Ohio — The long-closed natatorium inside Brook Park’s Recreation Center is edging closer to reopening, with major renovation work well underway and a ribbon-cutting now targeted for next summer.

Mayor Edward Orcutt told City Council during its Sept. 2 meeting that construction crews have completed more than 80% of the new roof and are progressing steadily inside the facility. Interior painting is nearly finished, railings are halfway installed, and wall work is about 90% complete, he said.

“We continue to make great progress,” Orcutt said. “We should see the HVAC equipment here in the next several weeks, and once that arrives, crews will begin work on the piping, filters and pump systems.”
