TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A new college football season brings change on the field and off, including who protects the group that provides the soundtrack for Alabama football games.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency will no longer provide security for college bands supporting their football team, including the University of Alabama’s Million Dollar Band.

ALEA notified UA that it would stop offering security to the band this football season.

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office asked the County Commissioners for approval to begin providing security to the Million Dollar Band, with the university reimbursing TCSO at the overtime rate for each deputy assigned to the band’s security detail, plus mileage foreach vehicle.
