The Signal Mountain Fire Department (SMFD) released monthly summary reports of the incidents crews responded to or trained for during August.

The SMFD responded to a total of 73 incidents, including nine in which crews provided mutual aid and one call for mutual aid by an outside agency.

The SMFD had 22 service calls that accounts for about 30% of the total incidents.

Other incident responses include, 21 calls (29%) for rescue & EMS services, one explosion (1%), and two fires (3%).

The SMFD also released the number of EMS calls that crews were dispatched to during the month of August.

Firefighters were dispatched to a total of 21 calls for various medical emergencies.
