Two Quebecers are among the victims of Wednesday’s streetcar crash in Lisbon.

The Quebec government confirmed today the deaths of two public servants, André Bergeron and Blandine Daux.

Culture Minister Mathieu Lacombe offered his condolences to the loved ones of the two victims.

Portuguese authorities confirmed earlier today that two Canadians were among the 16 people killed in the crash.

Local police said five of the victims were from Portugal, three from the United Kingdom, two from Canada, two from South Korea, one from the United States, one from France, one from Switzerland, and one from Ukraine.

The streetcar, a popular tourist attraction, carries passengers up and down one of Lisbon’s steep hills, past picturesque views.
