As the branding changes on Kum & Go locations in Iowa, some of them won't be displaying the logo of the company that bought the formerly Des Moines-based convenience store chain in 2023 .
That's because Salt Lake City-based Maverik has quietly sold more than 20 of them, including several in the Des Moines metro, to a small Omaha chain.
The new acquisitions will increase by near one-third the number of Mega Saver locations. Trade publication C-Store Dive reported Maverik also sold three Sioux Falls, South Dakota, stores to the company.
Maverik and Mega Saver did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
