WE have reached the semi-final stages of this year's US Open - and the first men's singles encounter sees super Serb Novak Djokovic take on Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz!

Djokovic fought hard to earn his spot in the final four after overcoming home favourite Taylor Fritz in a four-set thriller.

While Alcaraz, 22, cruised past his quarter-final opponent Jiri Lehecka by beating the Czech ace in straight sets.

And the Spanish mogul will be spurred on by the fact that Djokovic is unsure if he'll be fit enough to get through this huge contest.
